jess curtis is a interdisciplinary artist based in winchester, uk. her practice is comprised of both post impressionistic/expressionistic painting and drawing, and new media-based works concerned with video and digital stills.

since graduating from winchester school of art, university of southampton's ba fine art course in 2020, jess has become an associate member of 'a space arts' RIPE programme, and a former member of ZEST arts collective. day-to-day she works as a member of technical staff at winchester school of art.

jess's practice draws from the often self-motivated desire to deal with felt things; emotions. in particular, her new media works, while clinical and detached from the outset, are rooted in matters of object sentimentality, attachment, and the act of revealing while concealing. inversely, her paintings, drawings, collages, zines and written works are self-actualised and indulgent; unapologetic in nature, and often naïve.
